Sherwood by Meagan Spooner | Book Review

RATING 4 OUT OF 5 STARS

Robin Hood retelling where the girl saves herself.

“ROBIN OF LOCKSLEY IS DEAD.”

Sherwood is a retelling of the classic story of Robin Hood through the eyes of Maid Marian who has been left heartbroken when Robin dies in a battle. As she deals with the loss of the love of her life Marian decides to put on Robin’s green cloak and his bow to become the masked hero for the the peasants and nobles of the land.

I loved this novel and the adventure that came with it! For me a good retelling starts with the characters and their unique take on the world.

Maid Marian is definitely not what here world wants her as a lady to be which made me lover her even more. She is spunky and fierce while also being able to save herself without Robin. Strong female heroines are something that everyone loves recently and Marian is defiantly that. If. you are looking for an adventure filled retelling with a strong lead I would highly recommend giving Sherwood a shot!
